Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor died and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes follow nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
