Cars in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were alerted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.

A high-ranking official commented the attack left him without words and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
